Tuesday 23rd March 2010 – Super Tuesday

Posted by: glowmaternityandbaby on: March 23, 2010

Today was super Tuesday - The store was buzzing today.  Only just about found time to get all the internet orders packed and sent out. Sometimes we do really need some more hours in the day.

I helped one customer try on almost everything in the shop! - She was lovely and also loved everything she tried on :-)

We found out that the delivery of our brand new range will be with us in the morning – Can’t wait….Mark is off first thing up to Bristol as we need some new floor plinths.

Had lots of advertising people and companies also call to try and get us to advertise – Must have been the day for it!

I did get a press release all wrote up ready to send out for our new range :-)

We had lots of hits from the phrase Maternity Wear on google today so we must be getting higher for it – If you could type Maternity Wear into google for us and let us know what position you see www.glowmaternityandbaby.co.uk at that would be a huge help – I’ll add a poll below (If I can work out how) or please leave a comment.

Our baby shoes have become very popular online over the last few weeks – They are made with lovely soft leather and are made by the brand Pediped

Monday 22nd March – So Excited

Posted by: glowmaternityandbaby on: March 22, 2010

I am not normally a fan of Mondays – But I am so super excited – Today we had the phone call to let us know our new product range has been shipped and we will take delivery THIS WEEK – OMG this is a whole new thing for us and we can not wait. – I wll update you all on this exclusive range as soon as they arrive

It rained for most of the day today, which was no fun – but it was the day for collections – Someone collected their nursery bedding and mosses basket, then a fav customer of ours who has been collecting bits and pieces for his new grandson come in to collect all his bits as he is off to London to visit his Daughter and Grandson – He and Mark always talk golf whenever he visits so Mark couldn’t wait to show him the golf clubs we have bought Cayden for his 6th Birthday this coming Sunday. Then another regular customer came in to collect a wheelie bug.

My dad also popped in at lunch time to say hello, which was nice :-)

Bump now moving lots and lots – I keep getting legs or arms (you would think on baby number 4 I could tell the difference!) jolting out.

I have started to think about my hospital bag….oh my! And have decided to pack a few of these nursing vests so I can wear them under normal tops when feeding or on its own when the sun puts his hat on

Saturday 20th March – Busy Saturday in the shop

Posted by: glowmaternityandbaby on: March 22, 2010

I love Saturdays in the shop – always so buzzing.

The day started well with the sale of a highchair and carried on to be a fantastic day. We had a customer that loved our bedding so much and was due to have her baby on the Sunday and she wasn’t sure if she was having a boy or girl so asked if she bought both could she bring one back next week!! – We loved this :-)

Some more summer maternity bits were placed out, as was some baby clothes and we re-stocked the shop.

I even found 5 mins to try on some Maternity Swimwear as think I am going to take up some swimming (Gulp!) -

Mark and I also had an idea about some shop fitting we wanted to move arround, and decided we would do some changing about to see if it would work – but needed to wait until we closed to do this – We did do this on Sunday afternoon, was very funny as I couldn’t lift as was so heavy I had my end of the unit on a skateboard – It looked great in its new place so very happy.

Thursday 18th March – Nursery Bedding & Summer Maternity Wear

Posted by: glowmaternityandbaby on: March 18, 2010

We ended yesterday in the shop at 5.30pm and had to rush to school for the boys parents evening – All good, as they were running late we stopped on the way home (about 7pm) for a take-out…kids loved it.

Today I had a consultant appointment at 9.15am after the school run, got there just in time – All was well. I am under consultant care this pregnancy as Cayden arrived 4 weeks early so they want to keep a close eye on me, but I am sure all will be fine this time…I have to cross my legs until at least 2nd June 2010 as this is when Marks Mum gets back from the States (She and her husband travel arround in a huge R.V) and she is going to be helping out with the shop whilst we look after the new baby……although I’m sure I’ll be showing the new arrival off in the shop not too long after the happy! event.

It rained in Barnstaple this afternoon so shop went a bit quiet, but we both had plenty of internet orders to get packed up and I have also been uplaoding more images of the lovely nursery bedding we have on to the website

I also placed out some of the new arrival in the Maternity Wear Section some of the Maternity dresses are going to be huge hits – I can’t wait for the rest of the Summer Maternity Wear to arrive.

Mark done the school run (Twice as Ryan had after school football) and I went home at 5pm to start dinner and Mark stayed on to close at 5.30pm.

Had a great day today, shop been very busy – Lots of Sling Demos which is getting a bit harder for Kate to do with her huge bump!

Here is our instore sling area

Lots of babies seem to be due arround the same time as us, which is great talking to customers and comparing stories – I have had a good day today, Pelvis has not been too bad and I don’t feel sick!

We also have placed online the fab new Oyster Black Pearl Travel system which we are selling as a complete package for just £599.99 – This really is stunning. There is a 6 week waiting list so orders yours now!

Tuesday 16th March

Posted by: glowmaternityandbaby on: March 16, 2010

We started the day today with internet orders – this took quite a while as had lots and lots of internet orders last night.
Sent out lots of belly bands – we come highly ranked on google for belly bands so we always have orders on for these.
Bamboo Belly Band Belt - White
Belly Bands are a must have for all mums to be and nursing mums.
Simply wear the belly band arround your bump, this will give the effect of a double layered top, as your normal tops strart to rise
They will also help keep trousers up if wear over a pair of trousers with your button undone! (In those early days!)
Also great to keep your bump covered
Wear after for nursing (So when you lift your top up no-one sees your belly)

But also sent out quite a few slogan tops and also maternity swimsuits.

We had to place another order with the organic nursery range, we hope this will arrive on Wednesday – most popular item this week so far has been the organic bamboo blanket which is just devine, this also makes a great new baby gift as comes boxed and with a gift card – bonus!
Organic New Baby Boxed Blanket & Card

We spent the early part of the afternoon placing out the rest of the baby clothes from yesterday’s delivery and then Mark re-organised the baby clothes in to a better order!

Kate had a midwife appointment after lunch, had bloods taken and baby is currently breech…not too worried at this stage as baby still has plenty of room to turn.
Also had a listen to the heartbeat which is always a lovely sound and had my blood pressure taken – all was fine.
After I had a lovely walk back to the shop in the sunshine

Mark then done the school run and Chloe had a friend home for tea after school.

Mark then done the post office run at the end of the day
